Pediatric Medical Assistant
Overview
Assist pediatric providers with patient care, examinations, and in-office procedures. Prepare exam rooms, obtain patient vital signs, and accurately document medical information within the electronic health record system. Administer vaccines and assist with pediatric screenings as directed by providers. Schedule appointments, communicate with parents and guardians, and help create a welcoming environment for patients and families. Maintain cleanliness and infection control standards throughout the clinical area.
Job Description
Room patients and obtain accurate vital signs and medical histories
Prepare patients for examinations and assist providers during visits
Administer injections, vaccines, and routine pediatric testing as directed
Accurately document patient information in electronic health records
Schedule appointments and coordinate follow-up care
Maintain exam room cleanliness and restock medical supplies
Educate parents and guardians on medications, treatment plans, and preventive care
instructions
Follow infection control and patient safety procedures at all times
Assist with phone calls, referrals, and communication between patients and providers
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required. Pediatric experience preferred. Strong communication and organizational skills with a patient-centered approach to care. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment. CPR/BLS certification preferred.
